Credit-Rating rates ING Bank Ukraine PJSC at uaAAA

Credit-Rating, a nationally recognized credit rating agency in Ukraine has today announced that it assigned its long-term credit rating of uaAAA carrying stable outlook to Kiev-based ING Bank Ukraine PJSC (‘bank’). In the course of the rating procedure Credit-Rating considered bank’s financial statements for 2009 and 2010, and its other inside information.

For the first time in its history Credit-Rating assigned its highest rating to a Ukrainian bank. Since 2003 the agency has assigned 105 credit ratings to Ukrainian banking institutions and 62 credit ratings to banks’ bond issues. As of today 73 banking institutions are Credit-Rating’s customers.

An obligor or a debt liability with uaAAA credit rating is characterized with the HIGHEST creditworthiness as compared to other Ukrainian obligors or debt liabilities.

Stable outlook indicates that there are no anticipated reasons to change the rating in the course of the year.

Factors maintaining the credit rating

  • Availability of backing from its core shareholder, which is incorporated into ING Group that is among 20 biggest financial groups in the world.
  • High bank’s capitalization coupled with availability of cheap resources that allows for maintaining competitive standing in the financial market.
  • Bank’s high performance efficiency indicators.
  • Efficient risk management system securing high quality of the bank’s assets.

Credit-Rating’s note: ING is a global financial group with a 150-year history, which provides banking and insurance services, and investment and pension programs. ING is among 20 biggest financial institutions in the world serving 85 million clients in 50 countries, and employing around 100 thousand people.

ING Bank has been working in Ukraine for over 17 years. In 1994 ING Bank N.V. unveiled its representative office in Kiev; in December 1997 the bank was registered as a banking institution with 100% foreign capital.
